Vapour Beauty
Short Instagram reels I produced for this sustainable beauty brand. I showcased their products with quick, snappy, and captivating edits, and I used atmospheric sounds to create an ethereal feel that played into their spiritual narrative. The light, airy, and scenic edits emphasize their clean beauty story.
Edited, color corrected, and sound designed.
47 Folds
Using found footage from New York in the mid 1930's and splicing the frame up 47 times. I set each clip apart by seven frames and then stitched them all together into one video. The effect that comes after is a result of shifting perspectives, especially when we look at things from the past in wonder.
Union
This is a snippet of a video I made for a local DJ. This video was processed so many times that the original content is no longer remembered! I worked with them to flesh out what kind of look they wanted for their set, and we came up with something moody, ethereal, and sludgy.
Digital Bloom
This is a snippet of a video I made using found footage of blooming flowers. I wanted to bring the flowers into the digital realm so I processed the video multiple times to attain the glitch effect, then over-layed the two. This project was for myself, and it was to honor one of my favorite musicians, Huerco S.
Soft Sift
This is a short visual I made for an artist that wanted soft visuals to go with their music. This is a multi-processed video, starting with the original video being footage of flowers blooming. Through processing it multiple times and with multiple effects, I was able to create a soft blur of petals that appear to be pressed into the screen.
Spun
This is a music video I produced for the synthesizer duo from San Francisco, Gravité. I wanted the video to reflect this duo’s analog-synth reality. Half of the footage is found footage, the other half is original footage. Both have been manipulated to compliment the feel that Gravite wanted to convey.
Meshes of the Night
An experimental short that I produced. This footage was given to me by my amazing professor, Malic Amalya. The footage is Maya Deren's film "Meshes of the Afternoon". The assignment was to create new footage using footage given to us.
A Dance
An experimental short that I produced. With found footage, I wanted to capture what it feels like to be an immigrant or refugee, abandoned or a runaway—like the ocean, you are always shifting, always adapting, changing, growing. Tumultuous with rage, sorrow, and pain, it can be difficult, but also humbling, to find a place or make a place that feels most like home away from home.
I’ve Been Thinking
An experimental short film I directed and narrated. My goal was to visualize a poem. I had a strange dream about removing my jaw and putting it under my pillow, but not before it asked for help as I tried to leave the room.
Arthropods
A short film I produced back at City College of San Francisco. I challenged myself to make a mock trailer with emphasis on text from found footage. Because the original footage was vintage not just in style, but in narration, I wanted to use a type face that mimicked old computer font with a grainy effect, and played with how I animated the text to emulate a retro feel.
